アジアン[Asian]は本多豊國の最大の主題。
日本に留まらずアジアそのものを主題としている。モノクロの作品もあるが顔彩を使用した綺麗な色使いが大きな特徴。
生命の息吹と自然の融和、その躍動感を表現している。DancingシリーズやFaceシリーズも含まれる。
Asian is the main theme of Toyokuni's works.Asian features using various colors called Gan-sai a historical material in Japan.He's describing a harmony of the breathe of life and the whole natures and drowing pictures full of energy and life.This category is including the series of 'Dancing' and 'Face'.

アジアン[Asian]と対照的に伝統的な技法を用いた作品群。
但しその線は秀逸であり、他者の追随を許さない。禅定寺滞在中に培った仏画の技法や若い頃から好んで題材にした鬼などが挙げられる。また、墨絵ライブなどでもよく描かれている龍も代表的な作品といっていいだろう。

伝統技法作品の中でも特に人気があるのが羅漢。
独特の表情や雰囲気は多くの人々に愛される作品となっている。題材は古典を引用しながらも本多豊國オリジナルの解釈をし表現している。さらに多くの人々に羅漢への想いを伝えたいとし五百羅漢の制作も行なった。

本多豊國の風景画にはさまざまなものが織り込まれていることが多い。よく目を凝らしてみると人間や動物、様々な風土がその中に描かれている。ここにもやはり自然と生物の関係性をどのように捉えているかの主張が見られる。

実に様々な動物たちが描かれているが、とりわけ多く本多豊國の絵に登場するのが猫。十数年飼っていた経験から実に活き活きとした姿が描かれている。その他には十二支もよく題材として挙がっている。

全米50州を描く巨大なプロジェクト。その作品はそれまでとは違う技法が好んで使われている。近年ではしばらく封印していたアクリルも使用され始めている。アメリカという広大な大地やその旅での様々な出会いがそうさせたのであろうか。

USA 50の過程の中で日本を再発見しようと力を入れ始めたのが掛軸。 完成されたその様式が本多豊國を魅了している。
当初は伝統的な手法にこだわっていたが、次第に前衛的な手法も加わってきていて世界観が徐々にでき始めている。 まだ発展途上。これからさらに本多豊國ワールドの掛軸が世に出るであろう。

なよたけのかぐやひめを代表とするいくつかの絵本作品がそうであるように、本多豊國は木版画も得意としている。 絵を描く合間などにハンコを彫ったりもしている。

本多豊國はとにかくその手先から物を作るのが大好きだ。 今までに団扇、陶器、置物などつくり墨絵ライブ用にTシャツに絵を描いたりもしている。
